Welcome to the Dirt Drag Racing Association

Plenty of racing from dirt drags to mud racing...

June 1, 2009

Due to the rainout of the May 17th American Mud Racing Association's (AMRA) sanctioned points racing the Louisiana Off Road Race Park (LORRP) the only thing left to do was reschedule the AMRA event to the following Sunday which meant Saturday was a new day on the schedule.

The LORRP took advantage of the situation and added another day of racing with 200' side-by-side arm drop racing.  So in less than nine days the race track hosted three separate events and despite some threatening clouds and forecasts, only a few drops came their way.

Saturday the the 16th the LORRP hosted the Dirt Drag Racing Association's sanctioned points race with more than 70 trucks participating. The highlight of the day was "the lights worked" all day long. It has taken a couple of races to get all the bugs out but finally a near perfect run for the lights system.

In the E.T. Class the ladies tag team duo of Morgan Woods and Ronda Baker took first place driving Ms. Ronda.  Terry Sayer's Bayou Blanc took the 5.75 class with Super Stock going to Greg Kiles' Mr. Truck.  Brandon Fontenot and Tiger 419 won the 5.00 class while Johnny Bennett's Flatwoods Tickler claimed the Big Block top prize.  Corey Basco and Flatwoods Fury won the 4.60 class with Paul Stott's Mud Rat taking the top position in 2-wheel drive.
