Meet Holley Lipscomb

Smile for the camera

April 29, 2009

Many dirt drag fans and racers may have seen a new face along the sidelides of the Louisiana Off Road Race Park the April 4th weekend. Holley Lipscomb, a Zachary native for over 30 years and a photo journalist the last 28 years shot more than a 100 photos of racers, trucks, and fans. If you were one of the lucky and caught Lipscomb's eye you now can go online to view and purchase all of her wonderful photographs at Photo Stock Plus or Live List and soon to be her own website Feaux Teaux to Geaux.

"My goal is to capture something that will bring you gratification and cheerfulness and inspire you to visit my photo gallery again." Lipscomb said. "My passion is looking through the lens of a camera and collecting meaningful images of our wonderful state."

Which now includes dirt drag and mud racing.

"I take photos of racers doing what they do best, going fast, doing the wheel stands, burnouts, and winning the race," Lilpscomb explained. "I am at the asphalt drag races nearly every weekend in Baton Rouge taking pictures, however, I have never been to a dirt drag race until now.  This was absolutely amazing."

Lipscomb says she plans many more trips to Jonesville and the Louisiana Off Road Race Park starting with the next event May 16-17.

Lipscomb noted: "There is nothing like good country folks getting together to compete in one of the oldest sports in history. I had no idea that a dirt drag race would be so competitive but after I looked under the hood of some of these 4 wheel drive trucks with 600 and 800 horsepower, I would say the Dirt Drag Racing event is well on it's way to being one of the most interesting sports in racing. I am geared up and ready to shoot the next race."

Editor's note: In case your were wondering where Lipscomb derived her company name look no further than a famous LSU slogan; Geaux Tigers, which Lipscomb took to heart with Feaux-Teaux to Geaux
